Wrong-way driver killed in 3-vehicle crash on US 190 in St. Landry Parish

Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a three-vehicle deadly crash on US 190 near Lakeshore Drive, located between Port Barre and Krotz Springs in St. Landry Parish, on Monday, January 13, a little before 2 a.m. The crash claimed the life of Brandon Taylor, 32, of Port Barre. The preliminary investigation revealed that Taylor was driving a 2024 Toyota Camry east in the westbound lanes of US 190. At the same time, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2013 Freightliner truck were both traveling west. For reasons still under investigation, the Toyota collided head-on with the Chevrolet before being struck by the Freightliner.
