Abbeville Police Searching For Clover Street Homicide Suspect

ABBEVILLE, La. - Abbeville Police responded to a call where the found a male with an apparent gunshot wound to his head.

The shooting took place on Clover Street near North Bailey Street on March 18 at approximately 8:05 p.m. The Abbeville Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance were contacted.

The victim identified as 18-year-old Freddy Gomezsoto of Abbeville was transported to an area hospital.

An investigation by Abbeville Police determined the victim was shot by Gary Turner, Jr. of Abbeville.

On March 30 Gomezsoto died as a result of the injuries sustained in the shooting. An arrest warrant for Gary Wayne Turner, Jr. was obtained.

No further details regarding the investigation are being released at this time.

Turner is currently wanted on a warrant for 2nd Degree Murder for this homicide. The Abbeville Police Department is asking the public to call the police department with any information on the whereabouts of Turner. Turner should be considered armed and dangerous.
