OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) — St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre said a jury convicted a man of attempted murder in connection with a shooting that injured a 14-year-old in Eunice in 2022.
He added it only took the St. Landry Parish jury an hour of deliberation to find Xavier Watson, 33, guilty of attempted second-degree murder after shooting the teen twice in the abdomen.
Eunice Police in search of 31-year-old Xavier Bernard Watson who is a suspect in a shooting in the 200 block of Acadia Street.
Eunice police said the shooting happened on Acadia Street on May 4, 2022. They added the victim was confronted in the street and shot by Watson.Â
Watson will be sentenced on May 2.
