St. Martinville, LA-Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that in the afternoon hours on September 28, 2021, following an investigation regarding the armed robbery of a Cecilia business on Sunday, September 26, 2021; Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Marcus Sassau, 32 of Lafayette, LA, and charged him as follows:

1 count-LA R.S. 40:966A1-Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 1 Narcotics
1 count-LA R.S. 40:967A1-Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Narcotics
1 count-LA R.S. 14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
1 count-LA R.S. 40:1023 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges, and his bond was set at $250,500.00.
Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in reference to a report of an armed robbery at a business in the 2300 block of Cecilia Senior High School Hwy.
Deputies learned that upon entering the store, the suspect pulled out a weapon; and after receiving an undisclosed amount of currency, fled the scene in a light-colored sedan in an unknown direction of travel. The suspect is described as being a heavyset black male or female, approximately 5’7” to 6’0”.
