LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — Lafayette police are on the scene of a major traffic crash that has turned deadly.
It happened at the intersection of East Willow Street and Dogwood Drive on Tuesday, January 14, just before 7:45 p.m.

They added the motorcyclist was rushed to a hospital but has died from his injuries.

Investigators said the driver of the SUV is not suspected of being impaired at the time of the crash.
Police are asking that drivers avoid the crash scene as that intersection is shut down.
The crash remains under investigation.
