OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) — Opelousas police said the man wanted for a shooting over the weekend that sent the victim to the hospital with serious injuries has been arrested.
Authorities said Gregory Maynard was caught by the Allen Parish Sheriff Office and has been transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail.
He faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of dangerous weapons or instrumentalities, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery.
Investigators said the shooting happened in the area of Juanita Street and W. Prudhomme Street on Sunday, June 23, just before 10:45 a.m.
